CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG 1994

The caption reads: "With all four wheels off the ground, an astonished Orem driver discovers a wicked surprise crossing State Street on 400 South. Anybody hurrying to beat the light will find the old road is nearly two feet higher than the new pavement. Since only one side of the road has been completed, crews have built a steep asphalt ramp to the old level. If you hit that westbound at anything over 10 mph, you may need a pilot's license. Drivers are urged to slow down." This little mishap took place sometime the summer of 1994. It's so funny how the photographer was just waiting for someone to try and beat the yellow light and catch some air off of the incline. The picture showed up in the paper about a month after it was taken. I am usually a very safe driver, though ;) |
